(This guest post was written by Scott Coleman, General Manager at Microsoft. Find out what he’s excited about and what Microsoft will be up to during Collision!)
In close partnership with Launch Pad, Microsoft is excited to be supporting the next wave of innovative startups at Collision – “America’s fastest growing tech conference.” We look forward to the opportunity to meet with startups from across the country who are bringing fresh and innovative angles to building their businesses. To that end, we will be on hand in New Orleans hosting a range of activities – from 1:1 office hours to helping judge the Launch Pad PITCH completion.
Here’s a snapshot of where we’ll be and how you can connect:
Launch Pad PITCH
Collision has invited top startups from Birmingham, Buffalo, Charleston, Nashville, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Raleigh-Durham, New Orleans and San Antonio to the Launch Pad PITCH competition. PITCH will take place during day two (April 27). The top 3 startups from each city will compete against each other for hometown pride and the chance to be named Best Startup at Collision. Scott Coleman, General Manager of Microsoft Ventures will be on stage to judge.
Over the 3 days of Collision, we’ll be meeting with a number of local and national startups to learn about their solutions and share info about our Microsoft Accelerator program and what Microsoft has to offer startups in general. The closed-door 20m 1:1 meetings are being curated by the Launch Pad team. The meetings slots are full but if you want to learn about what Microsoft can offer, please join us at the meet up on the 26th (details below).
We’re particularly excited to showcase four exceptional startups that have gone through our Microsoft Accelerator program who will be exhibiting their stuff on the show floor. Check them out and ask them about their experience working with Microsoft.
Startup Drinks at St. Roch Market
As my colleague Chris wrote last week, on April 26th, from 4pm to 7pm, we’d love to have you join us at St. Roch Market and learn more about New Orleans startup ecosystem. At 4:30 we’ll do a short presentation on the work and partnership we’ve done with St. Roch Market and guidance on how you can leverage free code and Microsoft programs yourself with your own data from Square or just about anywhere else. Then, join Microsoft and your Collision, Launch Pad, and St. Roch peers for some great food, drink and music. If you’re interested, there will be people available that can talk about career options at Microsoft and some of the great programs and opportunities we have for entrepreneurs with programs and accelerators that are located all over the world.
